One of the things Director Pete Shaner tells me they teach you at USC film school is that there are 3 ways to make a movie: GOOD, FAST and CHEAP. However, you can only have 2 of the 3. You can make a good movie fast but it will be expensive. You can make a cheap movie fast but chances are it won't be very good.
"minneapolis" is being shot with 2 state of the art, 24P - High Definition camera giving us time to capture the beauty of each REAL season in Minnesota. This also gives us the the time to make a GOOD movie we can all be proud of without spending millions of dollars. Brothers McMullen was shot in a similar style but before these new cameras even existed!
Our test run, the promotional short, was written and shot in less than a month. It cost a grand total of $858 to make (that's two Northwest Airline tickets) and has since screened at film festivals across the US. You can also watch the short streaming online.
The production website is still under construction, but we'll post a link as soon as it is up and running, so check back again soon and thanks for checking in.

Latest News and timeline
June 1, 2008 Those of you who have been following this adventure already know that this is already taking way longer than I thought it would. (kinda like college which took me 9 years instead of 4...but has led to a career than has since worked out very well for me)
We initally planned to shoot in August 2005...but along the way I realized something....
"Hey, We've got a really great, unique, memorable story here and it doesn't have to be done in time for the 10:00 news."
We will continue crafting the script, one weekend at a time, until it is truly of lasting quality. Our goal for a finished shooting script is December 2008. (we've got 160 pages right now that need to be crafted down to 120). When this script is truly wonderful...THEN we will start shooting character scenes...we are currently planning to begin shooting in the summer of 2010.
Aug 3, 2007 A new realization in the aftermath of the 35W Bridge Collapse....for two years we have poured heart and soul into a heart warming romantic comedy titled "minneapolis." For obvious reasons the title is being reconsidered. We're not sure what to think right now. Feel free to send us your thoughts/opinions on this totally uncharted territory.
