And now....a shameless plug to get my favorite acting coach back to Minnesota in the middle of winter. ; ):
Here's the scoop on Peter Kelley: (NY, Boston, LA and occasionally Minneapolis)
"In a world of Minnesota-nice, Peters openness and truth is refreshing. He gets right to the point, and the result was some of the most honest and intense work Ive done. ...................................................- Ami Christensen
.......................Park Square Theatre Education & Group Sales Manager
I have been studying with Peter Kelley since he was based in Boston. MA. Peter was just featured on MTV True Life as "the Top Acting Coach in NYC" pretty BIG TIME...but he didn't hesitate to fly out to Minnesota in the middle of winter to teach a group of devoted local actors at Bloomington Civic Theater how to put their theater skills in front of the intimate and unblinking camera.
I could go on forever but Bloomington Civic Theater's hilarous talent Bonnie Erickson summed up Peter's workshop most succintly:
.........................."FANTASTIC!!! It was better than SEX!"
After she uhh...recovered...had a smoke..whatever...she went on to say:
........"The best two days I've spent in a long time. Peter gave us pearls, pearls of performing wisdom....I have grown to appreciate so many things. But I have truly come to understand the value of a good film director and the entire editing process.
Nuff said...check it out!!.......www.actingonfilm.com

BOOK LIST
Peter Kelley has got this one covered: Resource list
The Actor's Network is my #1 recommendation for anyone pursuing an acting career in LA. An online membership is now available at $60/year with more resources becoming available all the time. Yes you will still have to work your butt off...but at least you 'll be doing it intelligently

.In the not too distant future there will be one place to go for all the info you need to define and launch you personal "brand" in any city and online...but for now....these links should keep you on the right track.
....."People don't come to the theater to see me. They come to see themselves."
