Okay - these first 4 took me into their homes at times in my life when I needed a roof over my head and patiently taught me the life-skills I've needed to succeed. They have all been a part of my life ever since and have had such an impact on my life that I get Saturday Night Live, Linda Richmond Coffee Talk vaclempt (sp?) issues every time I start writing about them, so for now... "talk amongst yourselves... Discuss!" More later.

Ezra Marcus -
"The great and powerful Ez" aka. "TV Agent Man" - Way beyond the point at which any sane agent would have given up on "the hair and makeup disaster formerly known as P.J." he stuck it out. The difference he's made in my life has made it possible for me to make a difference for others too.

Jeff Grover "Grover" - My cool surfing Geology teacher. The first teacher I ever really wanted to be like, which got me to pay attention in class...which led to better grades, which was my first hint in life that I might not be so dumb after all.

Rachel Songer - "Rachey Smachey" - the cool Sacramento actress that invited me to her show when I waited on her at Denny's. She helped me get a job as a singing waitress at Max's Opera Cafe (and she also had a really cute tubby kitty named JoshCat... though she recently upgraded to a real baby of her own!) Congrats Rachie!

Andy Dominianni "Felix" - The funniest, most un-serious, most wickedest sense of humor ever to survive in TV News! Thanks for all the great ideas and for making work so much fun! (Where is the Stuffed Bunny?)

Barbara Morgan - For wearing red Reeboks to church and showing me it's okay to have fun and be yourself

Jamie LeMoine - My High School Hound Hut pal who stuck with me through thick, thin, boyfriendless and unpopular, and for letting us pick our own bridemaids dresses... whew!

George and Carol Trigueiro - For teaching me everything about managing money, investing and planning for financial independence... Back when my big goal was to make 40,000/ year.

Kristin Taylor - "The Kruster" I never would have made it through college algebra or have gotten "a clue" and grown-up without you! You got me hooked on introducing others to the outdoors - even if you did make a show of complaining every step of the way through Yosemite. I could tell you were having fun!

Bill Young - My high school chemistry teacher for taking time to draw me a bar graph and explain the exponential upward curve in income if I went to college.

Denise Tabet - For being so kind when no one else was, for setting such a great example of how to live life, for being such a kind and balanced human being and for making 60 look really really awesome.

Robin Berry - Her talent and devotion to creating extraordinary art work inspires me to search diligently for the best fit for my talents, and to help others find their gifts too. And her painting....which now hangs on my wall inspires me every day

John Command - Mr. Full of Joy and Life...I grew up around people who really thought being Gay meant your were a bad person. I wish they could all meet John. And I love him for pouring all that Joy and Life into putting on a heck of a theatre production 4 times a year at Bloomington Civic Theatre.....and for casting me in some of 'em!

Greg Wheeler - My Sac State Geology prof. When I crashed my bike, and landed on my face in a city I'd just moved to where I didn't know a soul he picked me up from the hospital, took me to the dentist the next day so they could give me some fake front teeth, and oh yeah... suggested I go into weather. Now there's an idea!

Tobby Hatley - The best reporter ever: for helping me get my job in Spokane before he ever even met me. For teaching me the ropes and being patient with my extreme-self-absorbed-blondeness. For climbing Mt. Rainier with me more than once, and for talking me out of quitting the news business when I was stuck working so many hours that all I wanted to do was move back to California, wait tables and surf. Six months later I was at NBC in Boston. Thank you Tobby!
