Since when does anyone offer details about casting? Certainly not in Hollywood!
However our goal is to cast this film ENTIRELY in Minnesota (not just a few leftover bit parts). The only possible exception will be one or two recognizable names who love our script. Speaking of recognizable names...Governor Pawlenty has agreed to do a cameo as long as we can work it around his schedule.
I believe that in the city with more theater seats per capita than anywhere but New York City....we've got plenty of great actors to choose from for leading roles. In fact we've designed several roles with specific Minnesota actors in mind.(actually this is the way many quality scripts and films come together in Hollywood too)
The magical thing about actors in Minnesota is that they are usually even more wonderful to meet in person than they are on camera (having had the opposite experience a few times in Hollywood). ; ) So send a bio along with your resume. For this project who you are matters just as much as your "look!"
While there are plenty of VERY accomplished film and tv actors already living in the Twin Cities, I want every great local actor who is interested to have the opportunity to shine on-camera as well as they do on stage (having wanted the same thing myself for MANY years). So if you haven't spent a lot of time working in front of the camera...keep reading...it's a VERY different medium.

A few more notes on acting coaches for film/tv work
Peter Kelley - www.actingonfilm.com I have been studying with Peter Kelley since he was based in Boston. MA. Peter was just featured on MTV True Life as "the top Acting Coach in NYC" pretty BIG TIME...but he didn't hesitate to fly out to Minnesota in the middle of winter to teach a group of devoted local actors at Bloomington Civic Theater how to put their theater skills in front of the intimate and unblinking camera.
I could go on forever but Bloomington Civic Theater's hilarous talent Bonnie Erickson summed up Peter's workshop most succintly:
"FANTASTIC!!! It was better than SEX!"
After she uhh...recovered...had a smoke..whatever...she went on to say:
"The best two days I've spent in a long time. Peter gave us pearls, pearls of performing wisdom....I have grown to appreciate so many things. But I have truly come to understand the value of a good film director and the entire editing process.
Nuff said...check it out!
More Recommendations:
Peggy O'Connell - www.thelundstrumcenter.com I have studied with Peggy and she is a joy and a great local talent. She currently coaches several young TV and Film stars from LA ('cause..folks...she's so good they send kids out to study with her!). She offers private coaching $50/hr and is also open to running on-camera workshops if there is interest. peggy@lundstrumcenter.com
Peggy O'Connell also recommends Lev Mailer, and Steve Hendrikson (look in the Star Trib 550 ads).
I'll wrap this up with a favorite quote from Julianne Moore:
"People don't come to the theater to see me. They come to see themselves."
