The Story Behind "minneapolis":
Jan 28 2005: Feature Film Director and Naval Aviator Pete Shaner completes a training update on C-130's in Minnneapolis. He takes the new light rail into downtown and falls in love with the city, the people and the skyways.
Feb 1 2005: Pete returns to LA and gives Screenwriter Peter Meech an earful if his new dream to featuring the city, skyways and people of Minneapolis on film.
Feb 5, 2005: Former WCCO-TV Meteorologist Christine Clayburg arrives in Los Angeles to develop her concept for a women's outdoors show, and to further develop her acting career.
Feb 8: Clayburg runs into Meech in a Westwood coffee shop. After a short conversation about her recent arrival from Minneapolis, Meech insists that she meet Shaner.
Feb 15: After a 3 hour conversation in the same Westwood coffee shop. Shaner's fascination with the skyways and Christine's stories from 8 years behind the unblinking television news camera have come together in the beginnings of a feature film.
Feb 18: Shaner and Clayburg wrangle the unsuspecting Meech into ghost writing snippets of Christine's story idea into a promotional short.....and then inform him he'll be playing one of the characters he's just written.
March 10-March 23 Meech helps Clayburg polish the script via e-mail as Clayburg films in Europe for season 2 of "The Snow Show"
March 25-28 Shaner and Clayburg shoot exteriors in Minneapolis over Easter Weekend.
March 31st 8:00 am-April 1st 4:00am All interior scenes are filmed in one 19 hour shoot.
April 1st 6:10am Clayburg flies out of LAX for another " Snow Show" shoot in Winter Park Colorado.
April 2-May 6 Shaner completes all Post-Production. While Clayburg attends the Bahamas Int'l Hurricane Conference. They meet up again at the NAB convention in Las Vegas Christine is presenting VIZRT news graphics softwar and where Pete looks at equipment for the feature.
May 7 "minneapolis" streams live at www.christineclayburg.com during Clayburg's guest appearance on The Kevyn Burger Show on 107.1 WFMP talk radio in the Twin Cities. |
