Peggy O'Connell -
.....I have changed since I climbed that mountain, I don't want to bathe , and I'm blunt. Hah!
.....It was quite an amazing trip. It was life changing. Thanks for your prayers. I was voted the "the outdoor clothing fashion disaster." I looked like a reject from the foreign legion with my bright blue hat with sides and back for my Celtic skin, bright green canyon shirt, and glacier glasses with a very lovely nose flap. So you see someone could say "I never saw Peggy on that trip" "Was Peggy here? Well, I was, and actually burned my nose in a big way besides the awful fashion statement.
.....It was great, these women are wonderful, and fabulous. Paul is a gentleman, and a prince I can't believe that I am now a "mountain climber." I even camped on the snow. (Don't ask I don't get it either)
.....Our last evening was quite something the highest howling winds that actually moved our tent up and down and scattered our stuff. Margo and I were up late putting rocks and ice axes on anything that could fly away. When my last pair of socks were soaked, I was waiting for Scotty to beam me up. Speaking of which, Margo says that Mt.Shasta has more UFO sightings than any other location.
.....Kate, you are an incredible woman, and I hope we will keep in touch, you are a rock, and so together, thanks for keeping us focused, and strong.(also thanks for "papa was a rolling stone" and your great ear, and your cooking too. P.J. you are an inspiration, and the best motivator, and also the most beautiful, yet tough and strong mountain woman there is. Paula, I could never have done this without you, my new dear friend, training with you was the best, and you are a new joyful addition to my life. Margo, I can see why people in the middle of nowhere pop out from behind the ever present rocks, and ask for your autograph, as you are "the sage". Paul, thank you for talking me through that tough moment, and for everything you did for us. Veronica, thanks for all of your encouragement , and you will look great on camera, and you looked so cute in that green hat.
Love to all, and thanks for the prayers(I needed them.)
Notes to Stephanie:
We truly missed you, and felt you were a great inspiration for the climb. I love you
-- Peggy
Even though you weren't there with us physically you were there with us spiritually. We missed you much.
- Paula
We truly felt like a member of our team was missing. How can you have such an impact on all of us in such a short amount of time?
- Kate
